Welcome to Our Library! Our Library Coordinator is Mrs Memar.
Borrowing
Please ensure that you send your child to school with a library bag. They are a compulsory part of our school uniform and is needed for all students to borrow books from the library.
The students are allowed to borrow as follows:
K-2: 1 book per week
Years 3-6: 2 books per week
Students with an overdue loan cannot borrow anything new until the outstanding book has been returned.
Returns
Students are encouraged to return their borrowed books on time. Having one overdue book will restrict the number of books a student can borrow for future library days until the overdue book is returned, replaced, or paid for. At the end of each term, our Library Coordinator generates a report to identify students with overdue books. These students will receive an overdue notice.
Premier's Reading Challenge
Sherwood Grange Public School takes part in the annual Premier’s Reading Challenge. K-2 students will receive school support for the challenge by reading PRC books available in the library and at school. Students in Years 3-6 are expected to independently log their books online using the Premier’s Reading Challenge website. For further details, please refer to the website.
Book Week
Book Week occurs annually during Term 3, celebrating reading, authors, literature, and writing. Sherwood Grange Public School will host a book parade during this period, allowing students to dress as characters from their favourite stories. Parents are invited to participate in this event while adhering to guidelines that respect the privacy of all students, including only taking photographs of their own child. We look forward to seeing everyone's amazing and creative costumes!
